Statewide Collaboration

Even as the Foundation's roots reside in the East Metro, the ripples of our work can be felt throughout the state. We often partner with foundations both big and small to support grant programs that reach all corners of Minnesota. Some examples of this statewide impact can be seen through our collaborations with the Bush Foundation, the Taylor Family Farms Foundation and our Community Affiliates.

Facilitating Place-Based Investing

In 2025, our Investments team introduced two new portfolios that expand the ways charitable institutions, nonprofits and donor advised fundholders can align their charitable capital with community priorities. Both portfolios are place-based and invest in Minnesota nonprofits, mission-driven businesses and other initiatives that advance outcomes across the state through the lens of the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).

Through its Mission Related Investment portfolio, our partner F. R. Bigelow Foundation deployed $2 million in place-based impact investments — supporting businesses, environmental innovation and healthcare equity in Minnesota. These investments strengthen local economies, accelerate PFAS remediation, and drive transformative healthcare solutions, aligning financial returns with community resilience and social good.

Thank You

This year has meant so much to us at the Foundation.

You, our fundholders, partners and leaders across the state, are the heart of this work. Your belief in what we can accomplish together pushes us to keep going, to stretch a little further and to imagine more boldly. We’re reminded every day that we are not defined by the challenges in front of us, but by how we meet our community — with courage, creativity and a deep sense of hope.
