Building Community Capacity Grant Program
Grant redesign updates
On June 17, 2024, we announced a community-informed process to redesign our Building Community Capacity grant program.
On November 18, 2024, we announced new grant application processes and updated funding priorities that will take effect in 2026.
To create the capacity our staff needs to operationalize these changes, the three Foundations will each implement transitional grant rounds in 2025. For 2025, organizations that applied for and/or received grants in 2022, 2023 or 2024 may be invited to apply for a transitional grant. The Foundation Grants team will reach out to organizations invited to apply in early 2025.
For 2026 and beyond, we expect that the new application processes and grant guidelines will be available in the second half of 2025, with the first grants made under the new processes in 2026.

Partner Foundation Grant Resources
F. R. Bigelow Foundation considers grant applications from nonprofit organizations and public entities fostering a vibrant East Metro region and seeking to achieve racially and economically equitable outcomes in the areas of arts & culture, economic & community development, education & youth development, health, housing and human services.
Mardag Foundation makes grants to Minnesota nonprofit organizations and public entities to remove barriers and create opportunities for low income or traditionally marginalized children, youth and families; older adults with barriers to living independently; and to build capacity of organizations supporting the arts and humanities.
