Meet Mary K. Boyd
It's hard to live in Saint Paul's Rondo Neighborhood and not have heard the name Mary K. Boyd. For decades she has been a youth advocate, educator, community leader and supporter of Minnesota initiatives and nonprofits.
Through the James and Lavinia Murray Fund at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, she carries on her family's love of music by supporting youth specifically taking lessons at Walker|West Music Academy.
"Every child needs to have some type of artistic expression," said Mary K., who learned how to play the piano to accompany her father, known to many in Rondo as the "Singing Mailman."
Partnering with the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation for her giving has made it possible for her to support youth who attend Walker|West for years to come, long after she's gone.
