The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation today announced that Alfonso Wenker has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President of Community Impact. Alfonso previously served as the Foundation’s Vice President of Community Impact after joining the Foundation in 2023.
During his tenure, Alfonso has led the Foundation’s Community Impact team through a transformative, community-informed grantmaking redesign and expanded the team’s role in policy and advocacy work.
“I am grateful to the Foundation and the Community Impact team for their trust in my leadership and vision. As a Saint Paul kid, the Foundation has long been a part of my story, and I look forward to continuing to pay if forward in partnership with community,” said Alfonso.
In his role, Alfonso also oversees the management of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation’s client foundations - F. R. Bigelow Foundation and Mardag Foundation - as well as the Foundation’s learning and evaluation work which included the launch of the fourth volume of the East Metro Pulse report earlier this year.
“Alfonso has been a strong, strategic voice, generating new ideas and enhancing our ability to work together toward shared outcomes,” said Eric J. Jolly, Ph.D., president & CEO of the Foundation. “In his role, I know Alfonso will continue to lead us as we lean into our value that community is our compass and center community voices in all we do.”
