We believe communities should not have to wait for support when urgency is at their doorstep. That belief is what guides our new Rapid Response Fund. This Fund allows the Foundation to move resources swiftly and strategically during times of emerging or escalating community needs.

In recent months, we have seen firsthand how quickly conditions can shift for Minnesota communities. Community organizations — often the first and most trusted responders — have stepped forward to meet those needs. The Rapid Response Fund exists to ensure they are not standing alone.

Through this Fund, the Foundation can support organizations providing essential services. It also allows us to partner with leaders who are working to strengthen civic infrastructure and build bridges across differences during moments when division can easily take root.

We are currently directing funds to organizations supporting immigrant and refugee communities harmed by the recent ICE surge in Minnesota. Early grants will support legal and community response, safety and media capacity, small‑business stabilization and community‑led organizing.

The Rapid Response Fund is one part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to strengthening civic infrastructure across Minnesota. Alongside efforts like our Community Sharing Fund, which supports individuals and families facing immediate hardship, and our Community Leadership Fund, which invests in long‑term community‑led solutions and democratic engagement, the Rapid Response Fund helps ensure the Foundation can meet both the urgent and enduring needs of our region.
