As Partnerships Program Manager, Matthew Murphy provides relationship and project management for strategic initiatives and special projects, working in partnership with nonprofits, government agencies, businesses and community members to support community needs and opportunities across the state of Minnesota. Matt has a deep passion for supporting community-led initiatives, advancing equity, innovative problem solving and amplifying the critical work of our nonprofit community.
Matt has over 15 years of nonprofit management and administration experience. He started his career in environmental justice and stewardship, and he continues to center collective action, innovation and amplifying underrepresented voices as critical to solving our most significant challenges.
His educational background includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Hawai’i in political science, as well as a master's degree in public policy from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Outside of work, Matt is a dedicated father and spends much of his time creating adventure and memories with his partner and three young children. His hobbies include reading, hiking and music, and you’ll often find him digging through vinyl records at local record stores.
