SNAP Benefits Loss
440,000 Minnesotans use SNAP or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to put food on their tables each month. Amid the government shutdown, states’ monthly SNAP budget from the federal government will not be distributed, leaving thousands without this month’s food.
Nonprofits, community partners and food shelves are working swiftly to provide resources to fill in the gap as best they can.
Those impacted include:
- 152,000 children
- 72,000 seniors
- 52,000 people with disabilities

Community Sharing Fund
Every year, donors, businesses and other foundations contribute to the Community Sharing Fund (CSF). CSF then grants 100% of donations to support families in need experiencing urgent and emergency financial hardship. This season we’re moving additional resources to our neighbors experiencing food access challenges due to SNAP losses.
